I have been longing for a classic, show-stopping red lipstick for quite sometime. I do have a few lovely red lipsticks in my collection but, I had something else in mind. I wanted a red lipstick that would make me feel glamorous and fabulous. And MAC's Ruby Woo Lipstick ($14.50), does just that. 

Ruby Woo is a vivid red, that contains a matte finish. My swatch pictures do not do this beauty any justice. It is so much more vibrant than the pics are showing. I can't explain it. It is something you all need to experience for yourselves. Once on the lips, the color is simply breathtaking. 

I was a tad worried about this lipstick being on the matte side. My lips are prone to dryness so, I tend to look for lipsticks that have some slip to them. When applying this lip color, I noticed that the texture was a tad drier and stiffer than I am normally used to but, as long as the lips are prepped and moisturized properly beforehand, application shouldn't be a problem. 

In my lip swatch picture above, I actually forgot to apply a lip balm under Ruby Woo and it still looked pretty good on. My lower lip was much drier than my top lip was and, I was happy to see that this color did not enhance my dryness too much. The matte finish not only prolongs wear time, but it also adds that fun pin-up, retro glam look. Of course, if matte finishes aren't your thing, you can always layer a gloss on top, to add a  bit of shine. 

Here I am sporting Ruby Woo on the lips. I can't wait to pair this bright red lip color with a smokey eye or, a neutral eye with heavy winged liner, for a night out on the town. Fun! I think this red lip color is one that will compliment everyone, and I definitely think you all should give it a try.
